"Out of the mouth's of babes"... Excerpts from 4th grade students at Oak Grove Elementary School, May 2011: Now we know what life was like as a person in the late 1800's. How many years did it take to find all this stuff? --Mrs. Jackett's Class I would pick pieces and parts that I enjoyed at your museum, but there aren't any, because I loved it all. When we ... saw everything it left me speechless! I've gone to "King Tut's Moving Exhibit" in Denver and, honestly, I think your museum beats them by a mile! ---Zach, Mrs. Massey's Class Adults love the MMW, also... What a wonderful experience to see a museum in action. The careful attention to detail that reflected the mountain west between 1880 & 1930 was evident at every turn. I found recently retrieved historic buildings that were being carefully restored--an old school house, a teacherage, a livery & blacksmith, a church--in addition to a museum "town" that made me feel like I had walked back into time. I can't wait to go back! --Sarah Armstrong, Charlottesville, Virginia I was so impressed with the authenticity of the museum "town". When I walked through the drug store, doctor's offices, dry goods store, and saloon--just to name a few--I felt like I had walked back into time. These are not replicas of artifacts from days gone by --this is the real thing! --Anonymous We are excited about the "rave" reviews we are receiving on www.TripAdvisor.com. Search for our museum on their site to read all the reviews. Most say, "not to be missed"!! |
